Inset gas fires that have the look of a coal fire with 89% efficiency. When the inset coal effect fire first came out 20 years ago it was the thing to have. Whilst it had the looks of a real fire, the gas consumption was enormous, with efficiency around 20%, and sometimes even less.
On top of this, the room would require a vent to replace air, which often resulted in drafts.
10 years later, technology caught up with the problem, reducing gas input. Heat exchanges and ceramics have been added to maximise the heat input, increasing efficiency to about 50% and removing the need for a vent.
Since the recent gas and electricity price hike everyone has been looking to reduce their gas consumption and their carbon footprint by installing new condensing boilers and loft and cavity wall insulation.
Now inset gas fires have caught up with the trend by utilising the latest technology to bring gas fires up to 89% efficient, not only that but they look stunning as well with pebble, log and coal effects, modern stainless steel, brass or black frames and the option of a remote control.
The running costs of the fires are about 11p per hour for 4 ½ Kw of heat (10 hours running cost for £1.10).
These fires are on display at the Chimney Pieces luxury showroom. Call in today for a free, no obligation demonstration.
